Summary: A private citizen requests that the FDA provide clearer definitions for what constitutes a "strong Weigh of Evidence Package" to help researchers determine when animal studies can be avoided. The commenter advocates for the use of human data and non-animal methods to reduce the reliance on animal testing.
I respectfully would ask the FDA to clearly define what makes a strong Weigh of Evidence Package. Providing clear definitions would help researchers know what evidence is needed before additional animal studies are considered. Please consider all available scientfic evidence. (Human data, published research, previous studes, and validated non-animal methods when appropriate). As a taxpayer, and dog mom, I would love for the FDA to do away with animal testing as a normal practice.
