Summary: The Organization for Latino Health Advocacy opposes the proposed label change for acetaminophen during pregnancy. They argue that the product label should remain based on the full body of scientific and medical literature and emphasize that pregnant patients should not have to suffer unnecessary pain.
Patient safety, especially that of pregnant mothers and babies, is an upmost concern for us. We have carefully researched and considered the many statements and articles that have been posted on acetaminophen and pregnancy in recent months. Below are links to the numerous highly credible organizations and individuals that have commented on this important issue. These statements focus on the need to continue to base the product label on the full body of scientific and medical literature and data relating to the safety of acetaminophen during pregnancy. Pregnant patients do not have to suffer unnecessary pain. We at the Organization for Latino Health Advocacy agree with these patient-focused assessments of the need and side with opposition to the label change. Thank you for your consideration of this position.
