As a perinatal therapist for 16 years, I have witnessed much developmental harm caused to babies and children after their mothers took ssris during pregnancy. I have also noted a strong trend towards birth complications in women who took ssris for all 3 trimesters prior to delivery. With the current literature review of animal and human studies documenting multiple complications, it would be ideal for better labels and warnings to offer true informed consent for pregnant women and childbearing age women who may want to start a family soon.
