I heard Dr. Urato speak tonight. For over 20 years, he's been seeking and speaking out on behalf of informed consent for women and their unborn children.
I took Lexapro while pregnant with my first child in 2014. No one in the whole medical team informed me of any risks. They merely said that it was most important to take care of myself and likely keep going with the drug.
While that may have been the case, ultimately, I wish I could have made that decision with full informed consent about the risks and benefits.
I wish that someone had mentioned these risks and benefits BEFORE I even got pregnant, when I went on the drug.
I feel like the medical profession is clearly in league with the pharma companies and regulatory agencies. We need this to end.
