This takes individualization out of patient care. Providers are terrified of losing their livelihood so they have no choice but to offer sub-optimal patient care based on statistics that do not align with medical science. Illicit drug use contributes to more overdose deaths than prescription drugs, yet physicians are limited on prescribing adequate medication for millions of patients who suffer needlessly. And why are patients not allowed access to review their own score information? If decisions are being made on my behalf, I should be allowed access to the same information that is guiding my provider’s care. And stop adding pets’ prescriptions into patient scores. That creates an inflated score which gives providers a false sense of risk that contributes to denying patient care.
