I go to pain management for several different chronic issues. I am also allergic to several different medications ie: codeine, corticosteroids, naloxone, buspherion, suboxone, compazine. These were found by trying different pain meds because none seem to work on me or I have to take double to triple what a normal person would take and still little pain relief. I've had shots, ablations, a spinal cord stimulator all with little to no relief. I have been labeled with OUD.. I've been doing my own research as this has become very problematic with Dr's and at my Pharmacy. I found that Quest does Pharmaogenomic Testing to see how your body processes pain medication out of desperation. I will have to pay for this out off pocket and it will be difficult as I am on SSDI and a very limited income. But Im tired of being treated like a drug addict when all I want is some relief. Please update/ change the systems in place so chronic pain patients like me can get some relief without being treated like a criminal. We're already suffering greatly!!
