EPIC failure as I have always called it being a former health professional who has used it since it was implemented to the healthcare system I worked for. From the beginning, EPIChas been difficult to use as a professional, the medical record is fragmented and you may not see all of the information needed to make a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. I have seen it many times where there is a lot of INCORRECT information charted, things aren’t charted, things are lost in the system and more. I have experienced this as a health professional and a patient. It is often times impossible to get this information corrected.
Now they are trying to use AI to review the records including Narxcare Score - which IS NOT FDA approved and also often times not correct. Have you seen the lack of intelligence with AI? Doctors need to focus on the patients and really listen to them, get back to the basics. You continue to do things to take away the help people get from LEGAL medications. Many doctors (GYNs, eye doctor, dentists and more) have fired patients for no other reason than being on pain medication. The doctors are not allowed to do their jobs anymore!
Narxcare has its own set of issues that need to be addressed. AI is not what it needs to be at this time for what they want to use it for? AI can’t get basic information correct many times.
I pray no one in charge of making these rules ever suffers any illness, surgery, injury etc that requires pain medication and can’t get it! What if it is you, your mom, dad, spouse, children?
