This is abhorrent. People have different needs, based on their own individual Dx & care needs. One governing system to alert prescribers or pharmacists with someone with a ‘score’ is beyond dystopic. This is a black mirror episode, just within the medical sector. If a patient is on a benzodiazepine & an opioid, as long as their care provided and care team are aware of the patients needs & diagnosis, they are beyond well within their right to prescribe the two together. They know the patient better than a computerized score. Also. a computerized score will lead to the decrease of care for individuals in the future, creating bias within care teams and physicians.
