Summary: Dr. Eric Hussar, representing the American Academy of Medical Ethics, opposes the removal of restrictions on mifepristone. He argues that the proposed action endangers women and babies, citing newer data that suggests a significantly higher rate of severe side effects than previously reported.
The request of removing further restrictions and reporting for mifepristone will only put more women and certainly more babies in danger. The data used to suggest a 0.32% chance of adverse effects is extremely dated and based on a relatively small study. The newer study by the EPPC suggests a much higher rate of severe side effects, just under 11%. See the link below. As for the unborn child, what distinguishes it from a just born child to not receive the rights and freedoms that all people should have.
