Comment from David Brunetti

Summary: An individual who identifies as a vegan and a concerned consumer argues that products containing animal-derived ingredients should clearly disclose those ingredients. They specifically request that the species of origin be listed on the Principal Display Panel or the Informational Panel.
I have written to add my comments relative the Citizen Petition from the Animal Legal Defense Fund, et al. As a vegan, and someone who is concerned for others who may have allergies to certain animal-derived ingredients, it is important to know whether a product contains animal-derived ingredients. If the product does contain an animal-derived ingredient, then this should be listed on either the product’s Principal Display Panel (preferably) or on the Informational Panel alongside the ingredients list and allergen disclaimer, identifying the species from which it was derived.
