Summary: An individual living with severe allergies argues that the FDA should require allergen labeling for mammalian products. They state that this change is necessary to help people with Alpha-Gal Syndrome and other allergies identify potentially life-threatening ingredients in food and medications.
The growing number of Alpha-Gal Syndrome suffers need a way to identify foods and meds that contain mammalian derivatives. Healthcare providers are also struggling to easily identify meds that may have catastrophic outcome. Daily, those of us who live with allergies, live in danger. This is a matter of life or death. Please consider adding mammalian products to the FDA requirements for allergen labeling.
