Summary: An individual with an Alpha Gal mammal allergy is requesting that businesses be required to list whether products are Alpha Gal safe and free of mammal-derived ingredients. The commenter argues that this requirement would reduce anxiety and provide necessary clarity for consumers with severe sensitivities.
I have been diagnosed with the Aloha Gal mammal allergy and am highly sensitive to any mammal ingredient added to medications, foods and household items like lotions and dryer sheets. Currently I have to call the manufacturer of any medication that I need to take to try and find out if they use any mammal derived ingredient in the production of that particular medication. Sometimes I can get an answer other times I am told they are are unable to give me an answer. It would be extremely helpful and anxiety reducing if business were required to list if the product was Alpha Gal safe and had no mammal derived ingredients.
