Line 48 states indicates acceptability of PD's in some situations - "(e.g., investigator seeks and receives sponsor and IRB approval to enroll a participant above the maximum age criteria)." It is unclear what would be acceptable as sponsor approval - could that be as simple as an email correspondence or need to be an official protocol clarification memo, etc.?
