Hello, we recently received information that Metronidazole compounded medications would not be available for office stock in veterinary medicine. This will create a huge problem for veterinary hospitals across the country. Not only will this decrease client compliance but the patients that need this medication will suffer due to the fact that there will be lag time in order to get this medication to each client in a timely matter. Some of these patients need it not only for intestinal problems but for severe infections that present sepsis which can alter an animals life. Not only will clients become irritable and non compliant, but now the animal has to wait to receive the appropriate treatment in which could end up in the loss of a life. Please allow Metronidazole to be available for hospital use and dispense in order for us to continue what we do, which is save lifes for animals that can not have a voice for them selves. Not having this medication available for hospital use will also decrease productivity to the compounding pharmacies which will alter there business and revenue.
