Several medications such as metronidazole, doxycycline, pimobendan, and several others need to be compounded in order for pets to 1. receive the right dose, 2. make it affordable, 3. give owners several options on the form of the medication- small tiny tabs, flavored chews, liquids, etc. Some of these medications the owner needs to be able to access immediately and are not able to wait 3-7 days for delivery, and that is with no delays. it is just not feasible for vet clinics to not be able to order these medications to keep on hand for immediate access.
