I earnestly request that the FDA lower the permissible levels of C134 and C137 in the environment, including human food and water. Radioactive wastewater from Fukushima will be toxic to the food of all living things in the Pacific Ocean.
How many years of knowing does it take for a knowledgeable response from your agency? Dr. John Gofman's letter(1) from 24 years ago explains the power of mutations. The letter attributes much of humanity's (and other biota's) suffering to the vast sea of harmful mutations among the tiny islands of beneficial ones. Is knowing since 1927 (106 years of knowing) enough, when Herman Joseph Muller first showed ionizing radiation to be a potent mutagen? Maybe only 33 years of knowing would be enough; because in 1990 Dr. Gofman published Radiation Induced Cancer from Low-Dose Exposure.(2) It seems that when an agency's mind is made up, don't confuse it with facts: If there's radiation in your food, you can just eat it.
