Summary: An individual consumer expresses concern over the safety of radioactive toxins in the U.S. food supply, specifically regarding Pacific Ocean fish. They support the action of reducing acceptable levels of radioactive toxins and question the FDA's lack of response to a previous petition on the matter.
As a consumer of food, I am concerned about the safety of what I eat. I find it worrisome that the FDA has taken no action on the Citizen Petition to the FDA to reduce acceptable levels of radioactive toxins in the U.S. food supply that was co-sponsored by Citizens for Health in 2013. Is this non-action deliberate? I live on the US West Coast and eat a lot of Pacific Ocean fish. I want to know which fish are safe, not just from mercury and other heavy metals, but also from radioactive isotopes. I want to know if I should stop eating fish entirely.
