Summary: An individual is requesting that the agency reduce radiation limits for food, supplements, and pharmaceuticals to 5 bq per kilogram. They argue that lower permissible levels would increase public trust in the food supply and emphasize the need for careful radiation monitoring.
Please reduce radiation limits to 5 bq per kilogram for all food, supplements, and medical foods and pharmaceuticals. I am very concerned about Fukushima radiation and other isotopes in our food and ingested products supply. Lowering these permissible levels would actually help us trust our food supply and purchase more food products with confidence. Careful radiation monitoring of our food supply, air and water, and environment is critical. Thank you.
