As a scientist, I strongly advocate that we must collect and examine data. I remember reading shortly after the Fukushima disaster, that a number of radiation monitoring stations in the United States were being shut down. I was greatly offended by this news. The nearly destroyed building containing spent fuel rods at Fukushima continues to be a threat to the world. Our government has a responsibility to be vigilant concerning the radiation effects of that disaster.
