Firebrand Global MarketingOpposeBusiness
Summary: Lisa Greyhill, owner of Firebrand Global Marketing, opposes the proposed rules because she believes they will unfairly disadvantage woman-owned and small businesses in federal contracting. She argues that the changes will stall the growth of small firms and reduce visibility for qualified small businesses in the promotional products industry.
My name is Lisa Greyhill, owner of Firebrand Global Marketing. My firm provides branded merchandise across all industries..
The proposed rules are a clear and blatant attempt to remove opportunities for WOSBs and similar firms from procuring federal contracting business. In the promotional products industry, woman-owned and small business make up approximately 24,000 distributorships and employ roughly 285,000 US citizens.
There is absolutely no legitimate reason for these language changes EXCEPT to service the business desires of larger, well-connected firms that would like to retain all the work and profits related to federal contracts.
Growing past small
If small-business consideration above $350,000 became optional, our path to growth would stall out, forever relegating us to small business status.
Losing the people who open doors
A small-business specialist, OSDBU office, or agency market research led us to Firebrand Global Marketing. Without required market research, buyers would likely default to big name suppliers because no one would have the time or inclination to look for qualified small businesses like ours..
Sole-source opportunities going quiet
Public sole-source notices have let us step forward before an award is granted.. If sole-source intentions in our industry stopped being posted, we would never even see opportunities that should be available to WOSBs like ours.
