Summary: An individual commenter opposes the approval of Starship launches from Vandenberg, citing concerns over noise and vibration levels. They argue that the Starship generates significantly more sound and vibration than the Falcon 9, which could cause devastating damage to local homes.
At a distance of 6.2 miles (10 km) the Starship generates about 20 dB more sound and an equivalent increase in vibration over the Falcon 9. At Vendenberg in California the Falcon 9 has already caused damage to stucco walls and bathroom and kitchen tile in homes miles farther away. One dB is an exponential increase, so a 20 dB increase is 200 times more sound and vibration. The impact on the environment and local homes will be debastating. Please do not approve Starhip launches from Vandenberg.
