As a regional flight attendant, I'm very concerned that the proposed secondary barrier for ERJ 175s will be a severe safety hazard. It is extremely cumbersome to deploy and to put away. Should an emergency happen while a pilot is out of flight deck, the time it takes to put away the barrier would take precious time away from preparing the cabin and would impede evacuation and keep flight attendants separated from pax if it could not be stowed fast enough. It would be much safer to postpone the requirement for regionals until a sliding door that can easily be closed and opened be installed on ERJs.
