Summary: The commenter suggests a specific wording change in the proposed rule, requesting that the verb "work" be replaced with "serve" to ensure consistency with existing regulations regarding aircraft dispatcher duties and operating familiarization.
In the proposed changes 121.107(b), using the verb "work" may be inconsistent with the remainder of language within 121 regarding Aircraft Dispatcher's duty. I propose this verb be changed to "serve." The reason I propose this change is that the operating familiarization required for Aircraft Dispatchers under 121.463(a)(2) and 121.463(c) could be interpreted as "work" as it is a required activity to be performed to maintain qualification. If that interpretation were accepted, it would be impossible to conduct the operating familiarization within a dispatch center. The aforementioned sections do not use the verb "work" as this proposal does, but instead uses the verb "serve."
