As a crew member on the Global 7500 for Netjets I oppose this exemption. This is clearly a ploy for the company to allow us to move the airplane after a long flight. This exemption should be used only for a single flight but everyone that flies for Netjets knows that is not the plan. If they want to be able to fly the plane 17 hours they have enough duty time built into the schedule to allow it to be done in a 20 hour duty day with 4 pilots. These flights are fatiguing enough due to our unscheduled flights, not to mention that the crew rest is not ideal. It can be hard to rest for some people due to the noise, temps being hard to manage in the crew rest and work that the F/A right next to the rest area in the galley.
Unless there is way to force guardrails on this exemption to prevent multiple legs, especially the short repo flights after a long flight, I oppose this exemption.
