Having spent 15 years as an NFO/WSO instructor in NAS Pensacola, and also being a FAA Comm Cert holder, I can confidently say that spending 1,000 hours in the right seat of a T-39 as an SIC has made me very well experienced. So much so, reaching a Comm Cert was fairly simple without much preparation. My years of teaching instrument approaches, VNAVs, and EPs should, at the very least, provide the same type of credit given to FEs.
