I strongly support this Petition for Exemption. The Petitioner has clearly laid out the reasons the exemption should be granted and The FAA’s Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) has failed to address the request properly. AAM has a long history of not following the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and routinely establishes policies and procedures which place unnecessary and burdensome requirements on Airmen. These arbitrary practices by AAM has negatively impacted aviation safety as many Airman are afraid to seek necessary healthcare out of fear AAM will place undue burden on the Airman when applying for medical certification. In this particular case, the petitioner’s medical condition has been stable for years and the petitioner has safely operated commercial aircraft during that time.
