I am writing on behalf of the Greater Jamesport Civic Association which serves communities on the North For of Long Island, NY. We urge the FAA to renew the rule extending the requirement for helicopters to use the New York North Shore Helicopter Route. This requirement is set to expire July 29, 2026. We implore you to continue requiring civilian helicopters to fly over the Atlantic Ocean along the South Shore of Long Island or out over Long Island Sound east of Orient Point to reach their destinations on the South Fork. There is no reason for helicopters that do not serve us to threaten the safety and tranquility of our North Fork communities. It makes much more sense for the helicopters to take a South Shore route to the South Fork of Long Island. Thank you.
