Summary: A hobbyist drone pilot opposes the new rule because it imposes professional certification requirements (Part 107) on FPV users who previously operated under different guidelines. The commenter argues that the rule renders their existing equipment useless and requests reimbursement for their past purchases.
I would like to be reimbursed for the purchase of FPV equipment authorized under previous rulings. I am a hobbiest and fly within eye site utilizing FPV to bracket in the subject being filmed. According to your new rule 107 requirements if I fly FPV even within eyesite I fall under the requirements of 107, must pay 150 dollars and pass the test and get involved with the AMA. That was not the previous ruling and it was not publicized that this may happen. I have no desire to become professional and this was not the previous ruling when I placed my purchase. So my purchase of this now useless equipment should be refunded to me.
