Summary: The commenter is seeking clarification on whether the FAA intends to establish specific requirements and qualifications for small UAS instructors and examiners. They argue that formalizing these rules in the FARs would help remote pilots focus on the necessary skills to become certified instructors.
107.12 Requirement for a Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small UAS Rating, 107.61 Eligibility, and 183.23 Pilot Examiners
None of these three sections have addressed the remote pilot in command with a small UAS rating instructor or examiner. Is it the FAAs intent to have instructors and examiners for sUAS? If so, the requirements and qualifications should be laid out in the FARs. This would enable the remote pilot in command with a small UAS rating to focus his/her efforts on the skills necessary to become an instructor/examiner.
