Key West High SchoolOpposeIndividual
Summary: A student interested in UAS and mechanical engineering opposes the proposed action because it would limit hands-on learning in their high school curriculum. They argue that restricting drone use will hinder STEM education and create roadblocks for future engineering students.
As a student interested in earning a degree in UAS and mechanical engineering I feel strongly that FAA-20150150 will only be a limitation to my education as well as to others who share the same or similar interests. Currently I am taking a Course at my high school in which we learn by flying drones that we build and repair in class. If the FAA should limit the use of drones we will no longer be able to participate in the flying portion of our curriculum and will render the building portion of it useless. As future engineering and UAS majors our educations will be limited by these restrictions which will ultimately end up being a road block in the progression of stem courses throughout America.
