This proposal from the FAA is pretty good, but it needs some changes. For example, it isn't clear whether education is included in these rules. If so, the rules are not appropriate. Drones are very useful, and it is really beneficial to know how to operate and fly them. The age restrictions for drone pilots seriously restrict schools ability to teach this valuable skill. If a school has the resources and incentive to help its students gain more skills in a wide variety of areas, the FAA should try to help, not hinder them. The age limit should be reduced to at least a high school age level, at 14 years old. Why should teenagers be able to drive before they get their drone permits? It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and high schools being able to send their students off with extra skills that will help them get jobs seems like something that should be encouraged.
If The FAA is not willing to change the laws for corporations, then they should exclude education from the laws. If that doesn't appeal to you, then you should write a different set of laws that concern schools. Thank you for taking the time to read these suggestions.
