Summary: Brandon Gibbs, a resident of North Carolina, urges the committee to keep the state's vehicle emissions standards program. He argues that these standards are necessary to reduce pollution and protect public health in a rapidly growing state with insufficient public transportation.
My name is Brandon Gibbs and I live in the 28105 area code. I am against removing Removal of the State's Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program. For the last few years, I've watched in horror as the state has abandoned common sense, science and pursued partisan agendas in its policy making. North Carolina is one of the fastest growing states and unfortunately Public transportation investments have not kept up. People are moving to the state with whatever vehicle that will get them there. Strong emissions standards reduce pollution and promote healthy living especially those whom are vulnerable to particulate matter or live close to major road ways.I urge the committee to reject unsound science and invest in people by keeping the vehicle emissions standards program
