Summary: The Indiana Professional Lawn and Landscape Association supports the registration of Rinskor herbicide (florpyrauxyfen-benzyl). They argue that the product offers superior safety profiles, environmental benefits, and effective weed control compared to older technologies like 2,4-D.
On behalf of the Indiana Professional Lawn and Landscape Association, we would like to bring attention to the great benefit to our industry if you approve registration of Rinskor herbicide (florpyrauxyfen-benzyl). We think it has many attributes that will improve our services to the customer. Safety is always a top priority for our industry. Rinskor has a low use rate, minimal residual, an excellent toxicological profile, and carries the EPA’s Reduced Risk Designation. It will be safer to use around children, pets, and other individuals that make contact with the application sites. It also allows us to reduce the use of older technologies like 2,4-D with a much more environmentally friendly product. Weed control is also a top concern for our industry. Rinskor is also in the synthetic auxin mode of action classification, so it provides systemic control of many problem weeds in place of products like 2,4-D, and is able to control weeds that have become resistant to these older herbicides. We see that we will get good weed control with better protection of the environment and our customers. Please consider approval as soon as possible.
