Summary: JenqYann Ku, representing the 80-20 Educational Foundation, opposes Proposed Rule RIN 3046-AB37. The commenter argues that EEO-1 data is necessary to monitor and address the "bamboo ceiling" facing Asian Americans in high-tech industries.
My name is JenqYann Ku. I worked for Argonne National Laboratory and Bell Labs before retiring. I am a resident of IL. I write to oppose Proposed Rule RIN 3046-AB37. Asian Americans like me face a heavy bamboo ceiling. To demonstrate, please copy and paste this link: https://conta.cc/4xd4pn6 somewhere. Then click on it to see shocking visuals of Bamboo Ceilings in the "Magnificent 7" companies and other U.S. high tech industries. Q1: Would it be possible for my organization, the 80-20 Educational Foundation, to construct such graphs, WITHOUT the EEO-1 data? Q2: Would it be possible for us to monitor the Bamboo Ceilings in the high tech industry in the future, WITHOUT the EEO-1 data? Q3: With such strong evidence of Bamboo Ceilings throughout the industry, why is it “very hard to enforce” the EEOC's rules?
