Summary: The commenter supports the information collection activity but provides specific recommendations to improve data integrity. They suggest removing "customized employment" from certain categories to ensure a clear delineation between supported and customized employment outcomes.
Employment plays a pivotal role in the lives of Americans, and people worldwide, and people with disabilities deserve to receive high-quality services with verified outcomes. To properly evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of employment services, precise data is essential. To further support individual outcomes, the following recommendations are made:
1)Elements 254 and 255 (Supported Employment Services)
Remove “including customized employment”, this is critical to the efficacy of data, consistent coding, and a clear delineation between supported ann customized employment outcomes.
2)Elements 275 and 276 (Customized Employment Services)
More clearly define CE so focus is on critical pieces such as Discovery, customized job development, building social capital and negotiation with employers.
3)Elements 354 and 356 (Exit data)
In order to clearly demonstrate the differences in service models, maintaining clear delineation between Customized and Supported Employment is essential. It is recommended that the outcome for Customized Employment in Competitive Integrated Employment remain a separate and distinct category.
Thank you for your commitment to ensuring data integrity and guidance surrounding employment.
