Summary: The commenter supports the rescission of the Equity Assistance Center Program, arguing that schools should focus on "basics" like math and reading. They express concern that equity-focused initiatives will marginalize students and advocate for universal standards instead.
We would like to see education that includes math, reading, basic science and some health (excluding sex Ed). Remove the Equity assistance Center and get back to basics so our children can leave school and graduate with a basic set of skills that will make them competitive, confident, and competent. Our school system in Gwinnett is currently considering and EQUITY AUDIT. This will cause some students to be marginalized. The system should have a universal set of standards so that each child knows what to expect. Not going it this way will only cause confusion and will not allow for the children and parents to be able to set solid goals for the children.
