This has nothing to do with flexibility and everything to do with fraud and avoiding taxes. The grocery store posts prices and we all know our local tax rate, there is no reason airlines and hotels shouldn’t do the same. And by artificially lowering fares and tacking on fees for everything, they are avoiding paying full taxes as the fees are not taxed the same. So we all pay for their greed even if we don’t fly as that money has to come from somewhere else.
