*See attached files* The Water Quality Research Foundation (WQRF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing the knowledge and science of water quality, wishes to offer input in response to Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) Request for Information on counterfeit certification markings (Docket No. CPSC 2026 0100). WQRF’s comments are informed by its research focus on consumer water treatment products, often referred to as point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) filtration, and its examination of how product certification frameworks demonstrate POU/POE performance, safety, and reliability.
WQRF commends the CPSC’s focus on this issue and stands ready to assist with data, collaboration with certification bodies such as NSF International (NSF) and the Water Quality Association (WQA), and public outreach efforts.
