One in six 'Made in China' garments contain carcinogenic chemical. This extends to toddler beds and the fibers in them. The warning comes following a study carried out for the European Commission by Centexbel, the Belgian Centre for Textiles and Plastics. It showed that one garment in six coming from China contains chemicals that contain carcinogenic substances. These include bisphenol, nickel or chromium-6, which can also induce skin irritations or be hormone-disrupting. Due to this, all toddler beds and fibers imported from China should be halted, and sanctions should be placed on China for such transmission of carcinogenic material to American children. American manufacturers of clothing including Origin, All American Clothing Co and Red Land Cotton should be prioritized for federal contracts to ensure they can expand to enough capacity to keep Chinese carcinogenic fibers out of the American market.
