Summary: The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) supports the proposed review of the Essential Health Benefits (EHB) framework and urges CMS to expand the scope of covered services. Specifically, they advocate for including menopause coverage, ultrasounds, laboratory tests, and labor management in the EHB to improve maternal health outcomes and patient affordability.
The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) represents more than 62,000 physicians and partners dedicated to advancing women’s health and the health of individuals seeking obstetric and gynecologic care. ACOG welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Request for Information (RFI); Comprehensive Review of the Essential Health Benefits (EHB) Framework and Typical Employer Plan Standard. As physicians dedicated to providing quality care to those seeking obstetric and gynecologic care, we are pleased to submit comments for consideration when updating and improving EHB.
