Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed commercial leasing for outer continental shelf minerals off the coast of Virginia. They argue that such activities would jeopardize the fragile natural environment, wildlife, and marine life of the Eastern Shore.
The Eastern Shore of Virginia is one of the last unique, unspoiled areas on the whole east coast of this country. It is a fragile natural environment for wildlife and sealife. Please do not jeopardize this beautiful area by allowing commercial leasing for outer continental shelf minerals offshore the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We already have enough problems created by greedy developers who rape the land, destroy the unique environment and move on to their next money-making project. These developers have one goal, and that is to make as much money as they can. They do not care about the uniqueness and rich history of this area.
Please let us keep the natural habitat of our barrier islands and our marine life safe. Do not allow this offshore commercial leasing.
