Summary: Gary Conrad, a private resident of Oregon, supports the preservation of wilderness areas and opposes any actions that would weaken conservation laws or facilitate development on public lands. He argues that these areas are irreplaceable and should be protected from industrial use.
My name is Gary Conrad and I live in Oregon. To weaken or alter conservation laws and rules for mining or other business ventures by the Trump Administration in Central and Eastern Oregon, or anywhere for that matter, makes no sense. These areas proposed for change can not be replaced. Once development starts, it most likely will change the areas forever.
Preservation for wildlife and wilderness areas must continue. I’m guessing that most people in the Trump Administration and especially Trump himself, have rarely set foot in a National Park (outside of the D.C. mall which he screwed up), National Monument or Wilderness area and have little or no appreciation for these areas.
If there was a vote, would the public support such a proposal? I doubt it. Everyone must oppose these acts of destroying our Public Lands.
