When revising the “Lands with Wilderness Charistics Manual” please consider the following:
I oppose any revision to policies for consideration and management of wilderness on public lands that would weaken protections for Wilderness Areas, Wilderness Study Areas, Lands with Wilderness Characteristics, or recommended, proposed, and eligible wilderness.
I recommend that any revisions to the BLM’s Manual:
1) Mandate the preservation of finite and irreplaceable wildlands
2) Emphasize how wilderness preservation also conserves wildlife habitat
3) Require accurate information and science-based management
4) Preserve the public’s role in wildlands management
