Is the FTC and the DOJ suddenly concerned at all what the consumers have to say? No I think not, for if they did the FTC would go after companies like Google, Apple - more so than the current suit which is nothing compared to what Apple actually does in terms of breaking privacy laws, Microsoft, UBER, Amazon - they are guilty of plenty more bigger things than just the prime subscriptions, ChatGPT for not delivering what people pay for and not having any source of customer service available for problems, never mind their privacy practices in spite of ones choices, Facebook (Meta) - the biggest scoundrels of them all and the ongoing suits FTC brings against them don't do justice to their evil and clearly the FTC cuts a deal with them prior to the suit, and lets not forget the insurances companies. I'm talking about the big ones, and the Credit Reporting Agencies who should all be shutdown, the commercial banks.. They are corrupt beyond words and everyone including the FTC, the CFPB, the DOJ etc., are all aware of this. So please if you will, don't tell me about some bank in osh gosh mid-west for goodness sake. I haven't even touched upon the real issue I have with the FTC, and most others feel the same way. There used to be a time when the people who's data was breached got a decent amount of money from the settlement. Then the payouts got smaller and smaller until there was no payouts at all, well if one counts the 2 years of "free" credit monitoring with a company known to sell and trade data! But guess what people, the FTC and the attorneys get all of the money from one of these suits. The lawsuits that do payout something to the consumers who were actually hurt look like this: The Amazon Prime lawsuit was settled at 2.5 Billion dollars, 1.5 Billion is for payouts to consumers, however, the maximum payout per person is only $51. The FTC gets 1 BILLION. This is only 1 suit we are talking about. Yes it is a large one but there are many, many suits that are in the high millions, Look at the 2019 FTC approved suit against META for 5 BILLION civil penalty for violating consumers privacy and ALL of the 5 BILLION was paid to the US Treasury, so they say. Not a dime went to the consumers who's privacy was taken from them! The FTC is a money making operation who does not give a damn about "protecting the consumers" for if they did the FTC would give all of the money in damages to the consumers that were hurt by the illicit actions. If the FTC gave a damn about the consumers they would go after the entities I mentioned above. If the FTC gave a damn about the consumers they would have an educated staff of people answering questions when they received a phone call. The FTC would also have some other means of communicating with them other than filing a complaint. The FTC is a great agency for other government agencies to pull in quick cash. Like I said the FTC is a money making agency that doesn't do a thing to seriously protect the consumer taxpayers of this country. I recommend that the people reading this comment STOP believing that the FTC does anything good for the consumer taxpayers. The longer believing goes on that the FTC is a government agency doing something good for the consumer taxpayers, the longer this farce will continue.
