Lisa DambrosioOpposeIndividual
Summary: Lisa E. D'Ambrosio opposes the proposed rule regarding the interstate transport and temporary export of firearms. She argues that the rule would endanger public safety and law enforcement by allowing individuals to transport deadly weapons across state lines without sufficient notice.
I write to express my strong opposition to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ “Instate Transport and Temporary Export of National Firearms Act” notice of proposed rulemaking (RIN 1140-AA89). At a time of ongoing mass shootings and increased political violence, the ATF should not be trying to skirt state laws and allow people to travel across state lines with especially deadly firearms with no notice to federal and state law enforcement!! These changes would put not only communities at risk, but also endanger law enforcement—routine traffic stops could easily turn deadly. There are multiple examples of people traveling across multiple states with the goal of doing harm, and the ATF should be trying to stop this from happening, not making it easier. When our Founders wrote the Second Amendment, MUSKETS were the weapon of choice! They could not have foreseen the lethal firepower we have at our fingertips today. DO THE RIGHT THING AND PROTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! For the safety of communities and our law enforcement, I urge you to not move forward with this dangerous rule. Thank you, Lisa E. D'Ambrosio
