Summary: The commenter, identifying as a longtime gun owner, supports the proposed rule to remove the Youth Handgun Safety Act notice requirement. They argue that the ATF lacks the authority to require these notices and view the current requirement as an unauthorized administrative burden on gun dealers.
This rule change is to remove Democrat-initiated nonsense in gun stores. I support this proposed rule. ATF's regulatory authority must be limited to what Congress has actually authorized, and the Gun Control Act does not require FFLs to distribute Democrat-politicized paper Youth Handgun Safety Act (YHSA) notices with every handgun sale. As a longtime gun owner who values constitutional government, I support ATF removing requirements it lacked authority to impose in the first place. The YHSA's substantive provisions remain in effect. This rule correctly removes an unauthorized Democrat gun dealer harrassment administrative add-on. I urge ATF to finalize it.
