Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed regulations, arguing that they loosen gun sales standards and increase public safety risks. They advocate for stricter requirements and paperwork for gun sales to prevent unregulated and unlicensed sales.
Any loosening of gun sales standards, which this revision does (RIN 1140-AB01) increases the lack of safety of US citizens, who presently face the worst gun mortality rates and the loosest gun control in the world. There is no reason to allow unregulated unlicensed sales of guns (already a thriving criminal trade) to be expanded. Anyone who sells a gun needs to at least obey some rules that will diminish the threat posed to ordinary citizens and innocent school children. Paperwork is required for many positive activities, negative activities like gun sales should at least require paperwork discouraging carefree arms dealing.
