I fully support this proposed rule. The criminalization of lawful gift purchases between family members represents a serious regulatory overreach that has put innocent gun owners at legal risk. My father bought me my first firearm (shotgun for hunting). This should never be classified as a straw purchase. Where neither party is a prohibited person, a gift purchase is not a straw purchase.
