Re: Comments on the Notice of Intent To Prepare a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement; Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Suppression Program
Docket No. APHIS-2026-0628
On July 20, 2026, the web sites - www.federalregister.gov and Regulations.gov - for sending comments on APHIS’s Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for a Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Suppression Program were not properly working.
I corresponded with the agency’s point of contact Mr. William D. Wesela, APHIS National Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Policy Manager, who confirmed that sending comments by mail on a USB stick would be accepted into the public comment record.
Please consider the best available science and relevant information, provided on a USB stick, as part of the Center for Biological Diversity’s and The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation’s comments in developing a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for a Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Suppression Program.
Sincerely,
Darrell Geist
