Summary: The commenter expresses a desire to phase out the beef industry and fossil fuels, arguing that these are the root causes of environmental issues like grasshoppers and wildfires. They do not provide specific feedback on the proposed grasshopper and Mormon cricket suppression program itself, but rather offer broad ideological critiques of the ranching industry and energy policy.
I have the following recommendations: 1. Remove the most destructive invasive species ever introduced to North America the cow. The beef industry is and has been failing, let it die. There are alternatives to beef and we sooner or later be consuming them regullarly such as plant based protein, lab grown cultured protein, vegetables. The alternatives are better all around and do not have the vaccines, steroids, antibiotics that beef has. We can employ ranchers to take care of the range including big game elk, deer, sheep, bison predators like wolf, grizz, mountain lion 2.It's bad enough that lee zeldin at the epa is happily preparing to poison America with his deregulation, and subservience to oil and gas industry, we dont need other agencies like the usfs and blm poisoninng Americans public lands so a few ranchers can grow some cows. 3. The grasshoppers are just one little problem but there are many more and some serious ( exceptional drought) that all have a nexus to the one source and if it was corrected would cure all the problems..... that's right fossil fuels. Do you want to save the coast lines? Do you want less grasshoppers? do you want more snow on the mountain? Do you want less wildfire? If you answer yes to any of these questions then let's phase out fossil fuels and I promise on Day one it will be better.
